🌱 Growth Starts at the Roots: Renew Your Mindset for Long-Term Success 🌱

We often find ourselves perhaps busy scrambling through work, the phone rings, the colleagues chatter, your boss wants the report on his desk, maybe you have encountered a few mean clients the last couple of days, and you feel you cannot keep up with all this - rushing through life. You get home after a long, stressful day, you throw your keys on the counter and switch on the kettle. You get into comfortable clothes and with your delicious cup of coffee, you sit on your couch and suddenly it hits you, thoughts start travelling through your mind.

I want to do more!

Or maybe you often think:

I am not good enough…

Perhaps you feel like your roots have become weak, or they are only sprawled on the surface of the hard ground, and you become a little unsteady and afraid that if the wind blows a little too hard, you will come tumbling down.

But let me tell you this: Just like a tree that needs strong roots to grow tall, success in life and business starts with the right foundation:

Your Mindset, your habits, your values.

Maybe you do have strong roots, and your roots have been growing deep into the surface; sometimes, a little renewal is needed to keep them strong and maintain them.

Here is how you can build or strengthen your foundation for long-term Success:

🌱 Strengthen your Core Beliefs:

Our Mindset is one of our biggest limitations to growth, so we need to ensure that the mindset aligns with our resilience and growth.

We need to understand that sometimes, growth comes with change, and sometimes we are too afraid to accept the change because we are afraid of the outcome, but we have to start accepting change because with change comes growth!

We need to remember what our core values are because if we can identify them, then we can guide ourselves with what decisions we make and actions we take. Remember, this journey is for personal and professional growth.

If we can identify our personal core values, then we are halfway there to growing professionally!

Our core values consist of the following:

  • Integrity

  • Resilience

  • Curiosity

  • Self-Discipline

  • Gratitude

Our Business and leadership core values:

  • Authenticity

  • Innovation

  • Collaboration

  • Sustainability

  • Service

🌱Challenge Limiting Beliefs:

Replace the negative thoughts you whisper to yourself when you stand in front of the mirror, of “I’m not good enough” or “I can’t change,” with empowering words, such as “I am capable of growth and renewal” or “with change comes growth.”

Remember, there is power in the words we think and say. If we speak and think positively, positive outcomes will come.

🌱Develop Foundational Habits:

To grow your roots deeper and stronger, we have to start by doing daily practices, whether it is showing gratitude towards people, no matter their attitude towards you, we have to be determined to goal-setting, set goals and strive to achieve those goals, and do reflecting on your personal growth and professional growth, journal your growth journey down, where did you start to where you have come in this growth journey.

We often want to grow overnight, pushing the process and taking huge leaps and making enormous changes at once.

For those who have watched the Friday Training on Sales Cycles, remember the video Susan showed us of the apple tree growing, being faced with excessive changes in seasons over a long period, and what happened?

The tree grew beautifully, and the tree bore perfect apples!

So remember that video and remember this:

Small, consistent changes lead to long-term transformation!

🌱Embrace Renewal as a Process:

I know, I know…

We don’t want to show people our flaws and our imperfections.

We hide our dry, crumbling roots beneath the soil so no one can see we are a little bit damaged and due for renewal, but let’s embrace that process.

Let’s help each other renew our roots, and let us help each other grow.

Don’t be too hard on yourself. Don’t allow yourself to burn out.

Don’t become a tree that lost its ability to ever grow again.

Take your break, just like the colorful leaves tumble to the solid ground in the autumn season. Allow yourself to renew and embrace the change,  just as the tree embraces the fresh green leaves in the spring.

And lastly,

🌱Stay rooted but flexible:

Strong trees with deep roots allow flexibility in the face of challenges.

We have all seen a tree thrashing around in a strong gust of wind, that we think,

“Oh dear, that tree is going to break”, but it never does, because why?

Because that tree has roots so deep that the wind cannot, the storm cannot throw it over.

Be a strong tree amid a challenging storm, stand tight, bury those roots deep, and say

“I ain’t falling today!”

Please remember,

Stay grounded in your purpose while being open to new opportunities.

By having a strong foundation, strong habits and values, and by renewing your mindset, you create lasting success from the ground up!

Take a moment today to reflect on your foundation in your personal life or business: what habits, values, or beliefs need renewal?🌿✨
